Water Main Upgrade in Challenging Environment

A water main upgrade project was in need of a reliable shoring solution. The pipes ran underneath a major expressway as well as railway tracks in the median for an elevated train. 4-Sided Pit Slide Rail was used for this application because of its strength and versatility. The Slide Rail reduced the risk of the collapse of the roadway surface due to the vibrations from excavation and boring equipment. Since the Slide Rail is a dig and push system, the pits were excavated and the shielding was installed simultaneously - saving a significant amount of time and money. The slide rail system even withstood the pressure of being pushed down through extremely dense clay to 32 feet.
