TrenchTech Provides Quick Solution / Sheeting Alternative

$75M condominium project being built along the Potomac River in Old Towne Alexandria, VA had a conflict in installing sump pump basins. The fiberglass basins were to be installed in a concrete structure 24'L x 10'W x 12'D. The contractor called his usual shoring vendor and agreed to install a "one sided cantilever sheet pile wall". The day the shoring was to be installed the vendor backed out, leaving the contractor high and dry.

TrenchTech walked the site with the GC, Site Contractor, Plumber & Concrete Supt. After identifying the conflicting rakers at 16' on center TrenchTech suggested building 2-12'L x 12'W slide rail pits side by side. After the contractors discussed this option, it was decided this would be a viable plan. The shoring was delivered and installed, then forms were set, rebar was built, concrete was poured, excavation backfilled, and equipment was returned - all of which took only 9 days!
