Slide Rail 3-Sided Pit Accomodates Area and Budget

Woodbridge, VA - The department of transportation needed contractors to widen a busy roadway, part of which was the site of an old gas station with contaminated soil. Open cutting was not an option due to the close proximity of the neighboring property line. The suggestion of a single wall of Sheet Piling was quickly rejected due to the expense of renting a vibratory hammer as well as a crane to set the length of sheet needed. Slide Rail was installed and left open-ended in order to accommodate the heavy equipment entering the area to excavate contaminated soils and compact clean fill. This job was completed 3 weeks ahead of schedule utilizing the slide rail solution.
